Chicago Korean Dance Company (CKDC) was founded in April 2009 and established as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization in 2015 by accomplished Illinois dancer/choreographer Dr. Aedeok Cho. The organization bases operations at the Korean Cultural Center of Chicago (KCCC), located in Wheeling, IL. To meet its mission, CKDC has created both physical and virtual spaces that facilitate the gathering of professional dancers and community members to present excellence in Korean culture and foster retention of heritage through the arts. CKDC delivers a year-round schedule of programs dedicated to the presentation of and education/training in Korean traditional dance, serving as a source of cultural vitality for Korean Americans, arts audiences, and the broader communities of Illinois and beyond.
